This is the code that I tried in Office 64 Bit Option Explicit I have tried to add conditions #If VBA7 and PtrSave to everywhere but worksheet still does not work. If WideCharToMultiByte(CP_UTF8, 0, StrPtr(s), Len(s), b(LBound(b)), ccb, vbNullString, ByVal 0&) = 0 Then Public Function ToUTF8(s As String) As Byte()Ĭcb = WideCharToMultiByte(CP_UTF8, 0, StrPtr(s), Len(s), ByVal 0&, 0, vbNullString, ByVal 0&) Private Const ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER As Long = 122& Private Declare Function WideCharToMultiByte Lib "kernel32.dll" (ByVal CodePage As Long, ByVal dwFlags As Long, ByVal lpWideCharStr As Long, ByVal cchWideChar As Long, ByRef lpMultiByteStr As Byte, ByVal cchMultiByte As Long, ByVal lpDefaultChar As String, ByRef lpUsedDefaultChar As Long) As Long I do not use VB language and code below is not my but I have to solve that issue. If it’s only a few libs, you can extract the i386 package and manually copy the shared libraries to the lib32 dir, 32bit apps then should work directly without dchroot.I should figure out problem with excel VBA code compatibility on 64bit systems.

With debian based distros (don’t know about others) you can bootstrap a 32bit linux in a subdir using chroot, and use the 32bit package manager to install 32bit packages, but then it’s still all in the chroot jail and you have lots of packages in 32bit and 64bit you don’t actually need…but it works, i am using this method to build and run 32bit blender. Once you have 32bit python, blender will ask for further libs… However, as said, most distros don’t really expect you to do so, that means a possibility to instal those libs through the (64bit) packet manager is not provided, except for a few very essential ones. Yes, with 64 bit blender wait for 2.44 (release candidates), with previous ones your scenes will be incomplete in all 32bit builds and 64bit builds older than about a week if you used certain features (linking to other scenes, ID Properties…)Ībout running both Python versions, at least 64bit ubuntu has separate lib dirs, “lib” (and “lib64” which is a link to “lib”) for 64bit and “lib32” for 32bit (shared) libraries, so you can install them in parallel. I cant wait to see the day that Linux 64 bit catches up.

If you want to use blender with ease, get windows X64 pro… Reminds me of that “Emperor wears no cloths fable”. It truly breaks my heart when I see someone tricked into thinking that “less is more”. Only use Linux for play, and experiments… untill you see that you have ALL your hardware working as well as it did in windows XP/VizzzZZZZzzzzta… If you want to use ALL your hardware properly, and with ease, stick with windows… WHY IS THIS NOT AN INSTALL OPTION WITH ALL DISTROS?Įvery time I hear the “this is the year of the Linux desktop” makes me want to stab someone in the eye with a dull pencil. They almost ALL make you do a 32 bit chmod “Jail” or other totally assanine methods of running 32 and 64 bit applications on the same desktop. My least favorite thing about most 64 bit Linux distros, is that they totaly think that you want to run PURELY 64 bit applications…Įven tho, you bought a CPU that is capable of running 32bit and 64 bit applications at the same time… I highly recommend a noobie distro like Ubuntu or SUSE …Ħ4 bit ANYTHING in linux is broken, please dont just blame blender…
